Podcast: Whiskey & Work with Kelsey Murphy

When I was introduced to Kelsey Murphy, I knew we’d have a great conversation because one of my favorite quotes from Joan Rivers appears on Kelsey’s website: “Listen, I wish I could tell you it gets better. But, it doesn’t get better. You get better!”

Kelsey is a personal and professional coach, speaker, writer, and business strategist. She also describes herself as an “enthusiasm’s enthusiast.” (I love that!) Like me she loves helping people find, shape, and focus things in a way to get more, give more, and overall make everyday a bit more fun. Most importantly, she’s just a friggin’ bright light who should be your in world! Be sure to visit her website to learn more about Kelsey.

Kelsey invited me on her show, and our episode How to Handle Overwhelm & Find Your Daily Anchors with Performance Coach Ben Kiker opens with Kelsey remarking, “Everything in the world feels kind of hard and overwhelming right now.” We covered a lot of ground, including:

  • The importance of having a strong morning practice to begin your day

  • Hitting pause and focusing on healthy anchors throughout the day

  • Checking in on your productivity levels to keep yourself on track

  • Taking a few “moments of stillness” each day to be present

  • Saying thank you out loud, for each of the things you did today

  • Learning to roll with the inconsistency of starting a business

  • And finally, taking time to recognize what you believe and know to be true

If you’re experiencing that sense of overwhelm, be sure to check out our episode today!
