Ten Quotes to Power You to 2026

There’s something powerful about a good quote.

It can shift my mood in an instant—make me laugh, help me let go of an unhelpful story I’m telling myself, or offer a new perspective.

When that happens, I do what I’ve done for more than thirty years: I add it to my collection of quotes that inspire, provoke, and fuel me.

As we reach the halfway point of 2025, I hope you’ll make time to pause, pull up and reflect on your Big Rocks—and consider any course corrections that help you put a giant exclamation point on the year.

If you’re looking for a bit of fuel for that reflection, here are ten quotes I’ve recently added to my collection. I hope one of them powers you forward!

PS: Have a favorite quote? I would love to hear it! Just reach out here.

"Live every day as if it's your first – to wake up with a sense of curiosity and wonder and playfulness."

"Optimize for enthusiasm. Make as many choices as you can that leave you feeling energetic and interested. Pay attention to when you have the urge to pursue or participate in something and do more of it."

James Clear

"Pausing does not mean stopping. Rather, it’s like shifting into neutral, just for a moment. It’s all about creating a space for ourselves—physically, mentally, emotionally—in which to remember and respect, reframe and refresh."

Gary Burnison

“It may not be in our power to determine how things will unfold, but it is in our power to decide how we respond. It is in our power to hold on to the practices that nourish us, inform us, and give us courage.”

Adam Bucko

"Each of us is precious, and our actions are vital, everything we do and say matters. We can speak beauty into the world or poison it with our words; we can build things up or tear them down; we can dream of a world that is vast, alive, and interesting, or reason it to be small, hard, and empty."

Nick Cave

“Our work is to hear each other, to embrace each other, to love each other up, especially on the hard days.”

Richard Rohr

"We’re here for a little window. And to use that time to catch and share shards of light and laughter and grace seems to me the great story."

Brian Doyle

"Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes — including you."

Anne Lamott

"You never know when something you have written or said will change the world in a small or enormous way."

Matthew Dicks

“It is never too late.”
